	Thermistor System Ref: 270-131 All the problems of thermistor investigations are overcome with this inexpensive system. An NTC bead thermistor of nominal resistance 4.7kW at room temperature is embedded inside a sealed glass tube with thermal compound. An acrylic assembly at the top supports two 4mm sockets for connection to the device. The resistance of the thermistor varies over the range 13kW to 300W at temperatures of 0(C to 100(C and this forms the basis of many investigations. The relationship is R proportional to 1/T4 which presents quite a challenge at A-Level but at GCSE enables simple relationships to be tested and disproved. The assembly is held in a water bath using normal laboratory stands and the resistance is best monitored by a multimeter although Ohm's Law methods can be incorporated if required.
