Two conveniently linked tracks for use with a laboratory clamp stand. The integral pivot assembly supports a small pulley over which the thread linking the cars is passed. The apparatus comes complete with a matched pair of low friction model cars and the slopes of the tracks can be adjusted by raising or lowering the free ends using the wooden blocks supplied.

"A ""V"" shaped groove provides the track for impact investigations between spheres of various materials. The detachable foot supports this light-weight equipment constructed from PVC foam sheet. It has the linear distance scale provided by a calibrated scale and the vertical launch scale is printed on the front surface so that no other equipment is needed to carry out the investigation. "

This self-contained unit is constructed in strong white acrylic and has four switches mounted on a panel measuring 20 x 17cm. The test button connects the switches to a large ultrabright red LED which provides the visual indication that the correct switch combination has been selected. The low power requirement of the LED means that the whole unit can be powered by two 1.5V cells carried behind the panel avoiding the need for any other power supplies.

A set of 5 clear, square section acrylic rods ranging from 6mm to 15mm side. Each rod is 100mm long with a securely fastened top platform to support applied loads and the square section design makes area calculation simple. Unlike wooden dowels the acrylic does not absorb water and is far more durable. Supplied in a bowl which can be used to hold the moist sand during the investigation.

This kit contains a wide selection of gears to offer more scope in the investigation: 10 each of 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 tooth gears, 10 link strips and 50 axle pins. A pointer on each gear makes it easy to count the number of revolutions.

Fair Test-tubes Fair Test-tubes Ref: 560-389
A set of 9 tubes for Activity 3 the “Fair” Test. Lengths are 10 and 15cm with outside diameters of 10 and 15mm in clear acrylic and pyrex glass plus an extra acrylic tube 20cm long at 15mm dia. The wall thicknesses are matched and each tube is either bevel ended (acrylic) or flame rounded (glass) for safety. The pyrex glass used is very strong and the set is supplied in a vacuum-formed tray which helps prevent breakage due to rolling off the bench.

The latest notes for the C.A.S.E. course suggest the use of plastic and metal tubes for this exercise. Our Mk2 kit contains 18 tubes covering three different lengths of three different diameters in both plastic and copper. The tubes are supplied in a cardboard storage box and it is suggested that students select from the box rather than being presented with a “set”. One or two kits would suffice for a whole class investigation.

A wooden metre rule provides the beam. It is drilled at its centre and at 16 equally spaced positions so that the rings attached at each point can support standard slotted mass carriers. A support bar is also provided so that the beam can be pivoted from a laboratory clamp stand. Each beam is adjusted to rest horizontally when no load is applied.
Supplied as a kit of 5 complete sets.

A set of thirteen white plastic bottles graduated in size from 100ml to 1000ml but all with the same basic shape. The bottles are clearly labelled A to E for five of the 1 litre size and 1 to 6 for the graduated sizes (as illustrated) with an X and Y in addition. Supplied empty for loading with sand or lead shot as per the instructions.
